Get Your House Right – A Message for Men Who Are Ready to Rebuild
Get Your House Right – A Message for Men Who Are Ready to Rebuild
This month is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month — and while it may show up on your calendar, it needs to show up in your life.
Because not long ago, I was a man who looked “fine” on the outside...
But inside, I was falling apart.
I didn’t know it at the time, but I was burned out, disconnected, and exhausted.
I was functioning — but not truly living.
I was providing — but not fully present.
I was protecting others — but ignoring myself.
I had to come to terms with the truth:
My house wasn’t right.
And I’m not just talking about my home or my business or my finances.
I’m talking about the place where my soul lives — my body, my mind, my heart, and my spirit.
When a man’s inner house is out of order, nothing else works.
His health suffers. His relationships suffer. His purpose fades. And eventually, he either breaks down or blows up.
So I did what many men avoid:
I stopped pretending I had it all together and started rebuilding from the inside out.
Here are the 7 most important things I did to get my house right — and what I guide men through now in my work:
1. Train the Body
Movement saved me. It gave me structure, discipline, and power again. No fancy routines — just consistency and intention.
2. Fuel the Vessel
I stopped treating food like a coping mechanism. I started eating to fuel my clarity, energy, and masculinity.
3. Master the Mind
I journaled. I breathed. I started coaching. I learned that the stories I was telling myself were keeping me stuck — and I rewrote them.
4. Feel to Heal
I let myself feel. I cried. I got angry. I stopped hiding behind "I'm fine" and started facing the emotions that were running my life.
5. Feed the Spirit
Prayer, stillness, nature — whatever your path, the spiritual piece can’t be ignored. A man needs connection to something greater than himself.
6. Shape the Environment
I cleaned up my living space. I decluttered. I simplified. A chaotic environment reflects a chaotic mind — and vice versa.
7. Live the Mission
I realigned with why I’m here. My mission became clear: to help other men come home to themselves. And that gave me a fire nothing could put out.
Getting your house right is not about perfection — it’s about alignment.
It’s not about appearing strong — it’s about becoming unshakable.
If you’re a man reading this and something inside you is saying, “That’s me…” — know this:
You’re not weak. You’re not broken.
You’re just being invited to rise.
And I’d be honored to walk with you on that path.
