From Survival Mode to Peak Performance: How I Fuel My Body, Manage Stress, and Train for Life
Why real body transformation is about more than what you see in the mirror.
There was a time in my life when I thought being strong meant being able to handle everything.
Running a business. Taking care of my family. Managing responsibilities. Pushing through exhaustion. Showing up for everyone, regardless of how I was feeling.
On the outside, I looked like someone who had it together.
On the inside, it was a completely different story.
I remember lying in the emergency room, staring at the fluorescent lights, listening to the machines around me, wondering how I had ended up there again.
My body was exhausted. My health was suffering. I was living with chronic stress, and I couldn't understand why I kept finding myself in the same situation.
I was surviving, but I wasn't truly living.
And there's a big difference.
I Was Still Functioning. I Didn't Realize How Sick Stress Was Making Me.
There was a period of my life when, from the outside, I probably looked fine. I was working, running a business, taking care of responsibilities, showing up for people, and getting things done. If you had asked me how I was doing, I probably would have given you the same answer I hear from so many people today:
"Busy & stressed, but I'm good."
Except I wasn't good.
I was tired and increasingly exhausted. I wasn't sleeping well. My body was tight all the time, my gut wasn't right, and my breathing had become shallow. There were days when I felt like I was running on fumes, but I kept going because that's what I knew how to do.
